Right now I am reading a book by my favorite author of all time. It is The House of Hades by Rick Riordan . I love how he blends old Greek and Egyptian mythology with modern day technology and the issues that we have going on today. My favorite book that he has ever written was. He has written numerous books and quite a few different series. I highly encourage anyone who enjoyed Harry Potter series to check his books out. They include many dynamic, witty characters along with a fast paced and intense plot that will keep everyone engaged in the book.
WARNING SPOILERS. If you are reading any of the Percy Jackson series or The Heroes of Olympus and don't want a really big spoiler I would encourage you to find someone a different blog because this will spoil a good deal of the series. this week the most important line from any chapter in my book so far is when Nico and Jason have to fight Cupid, the god of love. They find out that love is very hard to deal with and is more equatable to death than it is to life. While they are fighting him. Jason comes to a conclusion where he thinks, "Cupid was a monster. Love was the most savage monster of all."(Riordan, 291) This line is so important to the story because love is really what motivates all of the characters and fuels the plot. When Percy and Annabeth get stuck in hell, the only thing that keeps both of them going is love for each other. Jason is driven by the love of all the crew and especially Piper to still be a leader and fight all of the monsters without Percy's help.
The final book in this series and the final book to wrap up both The Percy Jackson series and The Heroes of Olympus came out in October. I can't wait to read this book to find out what will happen to all of the characters in this series. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a new book to read. There is so much that could happen that I won't be able to put it down.
